The Asian Diet reaches a new benchmark

If you do a google search for "Asian Diet" the website for my book comes up at #1. It has long been #1 for "the asian diet", but was very far down if you left out the "the".

In other news, I have been invited to speak at a seminar series that averages an attendance of 3,000 people. I am pretty excited to be able to spread the information to so large an audience. I think this will have a greater reach than a lot of the radio interviews I have done. The details are still being ironed out, but it will probably be in June and will be available for people to listen to via the web. I will keep you all posted.

I just finished my first of four Semester-in-a-week courses in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). My wife and I are among the first Americans ever accepted to the PhD program in Acupuncture at the Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine. Rather than flying to China to take the classes, we are flying professors from there to Chicago to teach us here. We just did 35 hours of class time last week, in addition to seeing our normal patient load at ACFOM and TKI. It looked a lot better on paper when we were planning it. It has been a little brutal, and tomorrow we start our next round. The class was very interesting though, all about advanced needling techniques. Next week's class is about the Classical texts of TCM.

I learned a new technique for treating obesity. It is designed to tighten the abdomen so that people look thinner and feel full more easily. I have tried it on one patient so far, and as soon as the needles were in she reported feeling her chest and abdomen tighten. I don't know if this is typical, but it was pretty cool to witness. I'll try it on some more patients, and if it works, I'm sure my practice will become even more busy.

I guess there's no cohesive theme to this post. So I'll end it here. Have a great day everyone.

  1. Well that was short-lived. Checking today my ranking under "Asian Diet" has fallen to #5. Oh well.
